Who

Jyrki Kirjalainen is a Finnish artist living and working in Helsinki. He has always been very interested in doing art.

Jyrki studied art in the Alfa-Art school of arts for a year after which he completed a four-year bachelor of art degree in Tampere, TAMK Art and Media program in the year 2008. After the education he has made the best of being an independent artist.

Medium is a way to express. What you express comes from inside you or through you. Jyrki tries and learns different kinds of media. That is the way to know which media suit you. And it’s also important to know all your possibilities to implement the ideas and the artistic impulses. Lately video, 8mm film, digital and film photography and drawing have been in an important role on what Jyrki does.

Moving Gallery

Moving Gallery @ movinggallery.net is Jyrki’s project that is derived by his artistic ambitions to promote art and cultural values. Moving Gallery mission: Moving Gallery is an artist-run space that promotes young artists. Moving Gallery transforms the exhibition into a mobile versatile space. The web page movinggallery.net is a stationary global home for exhibitions while the space is on the move.
